Kente is an ASHANTI / ASANTE ( Ghana - West Africa ) Ceremonial cloth that is handwoven on a horizontal treadle loom.

It takes several hours for a weaver to complete a Kente strip.

Kente is more than just a cloth but is a visual representation of history, ethics , oral literature , philosophy , moral values and religious beliefs.

The Kente cloths history goes back to the 17th Century.

In present days Kente strips are used as scarfs, stoles, sashes, graduation scarfs, throws, home and wall decoration.
