The Osram Ne Nsoroma symbol, meaning Moon and Stars, is linked to loyalty and unwavering faith. It reflects the constancy of night’s celestial guardians. In Akan proverbs, stars are seen as guiding lights in darkness  reminding us that true faith shines even in the darkest moments.

This stamp is carved from the bottom of a calabash (gourd), shaped into a slightly curved motif so that the natural dye can be applied with a gentle rocking motion. The handle at the back is attached with wooden or cane pegs and wrapped in cloth for comfortable grip. The dye, known locally as “badie,” is made from the bark of the badie tree and produces a rich, lasting imprint.

Adinkra symbolism has deep roots: legend tells of Nana Kofi Adinkra, king of Gyaman (modern Ivory Coast), who was captured by Asantahene Bonsu‑Panyin of the Ashanti. In mourning, Adinkra wore cloth decorated with symbolic patterns  a tradition that evolved into the Adinkra cloth we honor today. Originally reserved for royalty, chiefs, and priestly ceremonies, these stamped textiles are now embraced for cultural occasions across Ghana and beyond.
