Recycled glass bottles and other glass items are crushed into a fine powder, placed into handmade molds, and then fired in a firewood kiln to form beautiful, unique beads.
The intricate brass beads are crafted by skilled artisans in the Ashanti region (Kumasi, Ghana) using the ancient lost-wax technique. Each bead requires a wax mold that is destroyed in the process, ensuring that every piece is truly one-of-a-kind.
African trade beads hold significant historical and cultural value, having been used for centuries as currency and symbols of status across West Africa. Today, they remain a cherished part of Ghana’s artistic heritage.
