- Bead size: approx. 9 mm diameter
- Materials: Recycled glass beads, stainless steel clasp & memory wire
YOUR NECKLACE WILL BE IDENTICAL TO THE ONE SHOWN IN THE PHOTOGRAPH (GIVEN NORMAL VARIATION SINCE IS COMPLETELY HANDMADE).
About the Colors
The beads blend translucent ice white, cool aqua blue, and rich cobalt, evoking the shifting shades of ocean water under sunlit skies. The combination feels fresh and serene, perfect for adding a splash of coastal elegance to any outfit.
Traditional Craftsmanship
Each bead is made using the traditional Krobo technique of crushing recycled glass bottles into powder, placing it into molds, and firing in a wood-burning kiln. This centuries-old process produces beads with a soft matte texture and rich, lasting color.
Inspired by old Bohemian and Czech flower glass trade beads, this necklace bridges African craftsmanship with European bead-making history, creating a truly global heritage piece.
Cultural Significance
Krobo beads have long been valued in African trade, serving as currency, markers of identity, and treasured adornments. Wearing this necklace is both a fashion statement and a celebration of traditional artistry from West Africa.
