Traditional Krobo Technique: Core Design / Mold-Inlaid Powder Glass
The beads are crafted using the centuries-old “core design” or “mold-inlaid” technique, unique to the Krobo region. Artisans crush recycled glass into fine powder, place it into hand-carved clay molds, and use cassava stalks to form bead holes. After firing in an earthen kiln, each bead is cooled, polished, and hand-strung to perfection.
