This flag is a genuine Asafo company flag also known as an Asafo Frankaa or Fanti war flag. These vibrant appliqué banners were carried by military groups established by young Fante men to defend their communities during the Akan and Asante eras. They featured prominently in events such as the installation of new Asafo captains, festivals, funerals of members, and other traditional ceremonies.
