Our beads are crafted from recycled bottles and other glass items. The glass is pulverized into powder and then expertly molded to create each unique bead. The entire process is done by hand, ensuring that every bead carries its own distinct character and charm.

The Art of Making Fancy Krobo Beads
The artisans of Kroboland utilize traditional techniques passed down through generations to produce these exquisite beads. The process begins with crushing recycled glass into a fine powder. This powder is then carefully placed into molds and heated in a kiln. The high temperatures fuse the glass powder, forming durable beads.
Decoration
What sets fancy Krobo beads apart is their detailed decoration. Artisans use a combination of glass fragments, powdered glass, and natural dyes to create intricate patterns and vibrant designs. Metal or wooden tools are often used to etch or paint detailed motifs onto the beads, making each piece a unique work of art.
Firing
The decorated beads are then fired again in a kiln. This second firing ensures that the designs are set in place and the beads achieve their final form, ready to be strung into beautiful strands.
