Handmade Ashanti Brass Beads Strand from Ghana

Handmade Ashanti Brass Beads Strand from Ghana

Item number:

SKU:SB-40482

Introducing a stunning strand of new brass beads from the Ashanti region of Ghana, West Africa. These exquisite beads are crafted using the ancient "Lost Wax" technique, a labor-intensive process where each bead is uniquely cast from a mold that is destroyed to retrieve the bead, ensuring that no two beads are exactly alike.

Length of strand: Approximately 20 1/4" (51.5 cm) of beads from bead to bead.

Bead sizes: Varies between 26 mm - 29 mm in length and 10-11 mm in diameter.

YOUR STRAND WILL BE IDENTICAL TO THE STRAND SHOWN IN THE PHOTOGRAPH (GIVEN NORMAL VARIATION SINCE THESE BEADS ARE ALL COMPLETELY HANDMADE).

Each bead is a testament to the skill and craftsmanship of the Ashanti artisans, reflecting a heritage rich in culture and artistry.

Explore the technique of lost wax casting, a distinguished method that involves meticulously handcrafting molds from wax for each unique bead. This ancient art form highlights the rich history and value of brass beads within Ghanaian culture, making each strand not just a piece of jewelry but a piece of history.
