New African Krobo Glass Beads - Recycled Glass Beads from Ghana

Introducing our exquisite strand of new glass powder African trade beads, handcrafted by the talented artisans of Kroboland, Ghana. These beads, inspired by old Venetian disk trade beads, showcase the rich heritage and meticulous craftsmanship of the Krobo people.

  • Strand Length: Approximately 23 1/2" (60 cm)
  • Bead Size: 12 - 14 mm in diameter

Each bead is made from recycled glass bottles and other glass items that are crushed into a fine powder. This powder is then poured into molds and carefully shaped to create these stunning beads, making each piece unique and eco-friendly. The beads are 100% handmade, ensuring a personal touch in every strand.

YOUR STRAND WILL BE IDENTICAL TO THE STRAND SHOWN IN THE PHOTOGRAPH (GIVEN NORMAL VARIATION SINCE THESE BEADS ARE ALL COMPLETELY HANDMADE).

The Krobo people of Ghana have perfected the technique of creating recycled glass beads over generations. This traditional method not only promotes sustainable practices by recycling glass but also preserves an important aspect of African culture and trade history. These beads have been a significant part of trade in Ghana and Africa, symbolizing wealth and status, and are now cherished by artisans and collectors worldwide.

Enhance your jewelry collection with these beautiful African trade beads, and own a piece of history that reflects the artistry and sustainability efforts of the Krobo people.
