Introducing a stunning strand of New African Brass Beads, meticulously handcrafted by the skilled artisans of the Ashanti/Asante region in Ghana, West Africa. These exquisite beads are produced using the ancient "Lost Wax" technique, a testament to the rich cultural heritage and craftsmanship of the area.
- Length of Strand: Approximately 21 1/4 inches (54 cm) from bead to bead
- Bead Size: Each bead varies between 24-26 mm in length and 13-14 mm in diameter
Each bead is individually crafted with a handmade wax mold, which is then destroyed to extract the bead, ensuring that each piece is unique. The intricate process highlights the authenticity and 100% handmade quality of these brass beads.
YOUR STRAND WILL BE IDENTICAL TO THE STRAND SHOWN IN THE PHOTOGRAPH (GIVEN NORMAL VARIATION SINCE THESE BEADS ARE ALL COMPLETELY HANDMADE).
The Lost Wax technique of bead-making is not only a craft but a storied art form, integral to Ghanaian culture. Historically, such brass beads have been a medium of exchange, a symbol of status and identity, and an object of beauty. This technique's use and value in Ghana's history emphasize the continuity and evolution of African artistry.
