The Ashanti brass beads are meticulously handcrafted in Kumasi, Ghana, using the ancient lost wax technique. Each brass bead requires an individual wax mold, which is destroyed after casting, making every bead truly unique.
The Krobo artisans of Ghana employ a traditional method to create the vibrant orange glass beads. Recycled glass bottles and other materials are crushed into a fine powder, placed in hand-carved molds, and fired in a wood-burning kiln. This sustainable technique has been passed down for generations, making these beads a symbol of Ghanaian heritage and trade.
