Discover the beauty and craftsmanship of our translucent powder glass beads, handmade by the skilled artisans of Kroboland in Ghana, West Africa. These stunning beads imitate the timeless elegance of old Venetian glass trade beads, offering a unique piece of African heritage for your collection.

  • Strand Length: 20 1/2" (52 cm)
  • Bead Size: 13 - 14 mm in diameter

Each bead is meticulously crafted from recycled glass bottles and other glass items, which are crushed into a fine powder. This powder is then carefully placed into molds to create these exquisite beads. The entire process is done by hand, ensuring each bead is unique and full of character.

YOUR STRAND WILL BE IDENTICAL TO THE STRAND SHOWN IN THE PHOTOGRAPH (GIVEN NORMAL VARIATION SINCE THESE BEADS ARE ALL COMPLETELY HANDMADE).

The people of Krobo have perfected the technique of making powder glass beads over generations. This traditional method not only produces beautiful beads but also supports sustainable practices by recycling glass. African trade beads hold significant cultural and historical importance in Ghana and across Africa, symbolizing trade, art, and connection between communities.
