- Bead size: 13-15 mm in diameter

Crafted from crushed glass that has been finely powdered and molded into shape, these beads are a testament to the eco-friendly ingenuity of the Krobo people. Each bead is 100% handmade, ensuring a unique, artisanal finish that reflects their cultural heritage.
The people of Kroboland use an intricate process to produce these recycled powder glass beads. Broken bottles and glassware are crushed into a fine powder, then carefully placed into clay molds. With precise skill, the molds are baked in traditional kilns fueled by locally sourced firewood, fusing the powdered glass into stunning beads. This time-honored technique highlights the resourcefulness and artistry of the Krobo community, while celebrating their pivotal role in the history of African trade beads.
African trade beads have historically symbolized wealth, culture, and social connections across the continent and beyond. Today, they continue to embody the spirit of innovation and cultural pride in Africa.
YOUR STRAND WILL BE IDENTICAL TO THE STRAND SHOWN IN THE PHOTOGRAPH (GIVEN NORMAL VARIATION SINCE THESE BEADS ARE ALL COMPLETELY HANDMADE).
