The Fused Glass Bead-Making Technique in Kroboland
The creation of this bead involves an incredible artisanal process used by the people of Kroboland. Unlike the traditional powdered glass methods, this technique uses whole new seed beads (like Chinese chevron glass beads), which are placed into clay molds.
These molds are then inserted into a traditional firewood kiln, where high heat causes the beads to melt and fuse into one beautiful, solid form. This eco-conscious approach transforms discarded or surplus seed beads into intricate, colorful creations.
