Krobo glass beads are made using recycled bottles and other glass materials. These are crushed into fine powder and poured into hand-carved clay molds. A stem of cassava leaf is placed in the center to form the hole. The molds are fired in traditional kilns, transforming powder into beautiful, durable beads, each with vibrant patterns and natural texture.
Ashanti brass beads are created through the remarkable lost wax casting method. Each bead begins with a hand-molded wax model encased in clay. After heating, the wax melts and is drained, leaving a cavity filled with molten brass. The mold is broken to retrieve the bead, making every single piece truly one-of-a-kind.
These Ghana glass and brass beads are more than just decorative they are part of a legacy. For centuries, African trade beads have symbolized cultural identity, status, and the exchange of stories across generations and borders. Today, artisans continue this tradition, blending historical roots with contemporary creativity, giving you the chance to wear a story of Africa’s vibrant heritage.
