About Krobo Recycled Glass Beads

These exquisite beads are made using a traditional Krobo technique passed down for generations in Ghana. Artisans meticulously collect and clean glass bottles and other glass items, breaking them into small fragments. The fragments are placed into hand-shaped clay molds, defining the size and shape of each bead. The molds are then fired in kilns at high temperatures, fusing the glass fragments into unique and vibrant designs while maintaining their translucent beauty.

The Krobo people have used trade beads for centuries as symbols of status, identity, and in ceremonial practices. By choosing these beads, you not only honor a rich cultural heritage but also support sustainable craftsmanship.
