- Strand Length: 21 inches (53 cm)
- Material: Recycled glass fragments
- Handmade: 100% artisanal craftsmanship
The artisans of Kroboland create these beads through a fascinating process. First, glass bottles and other recyclable glass materials are collected, cleaned, and broken into fragments. These fragments are then carefully placed into clay molds, which shape the beads. The molds are fired in a kiln, fusing the glass fragments together without homogenizing them, preserving their natural translucency and unique colors. Once cooled, the beads are polished to perfection.
Krobo beads are more than decorative items; they carry cultural significance in Ghanaian society, symbolizing identity, status, and tradition. They are widely celebrated for their vibrant colors and intricate craftsmanship, making them a cherished choice for jewelry and collectors alike.
YOUR STRAND WILL BE IDENTICAL TO THE STRAND SHOWN IN THE PHOTOGRAPH (GIVEN NORMAL VARIATION SINCE THESE BEADS ARE ALL COMPLETELY HANDMADE).
