These are authentic Old Venetian Drawn Seed Beads also known as Venetian Seed Beads, Conteria Beads, or simply tiny drawn beads. Hand‑crafted in Venice and used extensively in the mid‑1900s for African trade.

History, Value & Venetian Craftsmanship

From the storied workshops of Venice, these Conteria drawn beads were created by hand‑drawing molten glass through fine metal dies into slender, uniform tubes, then cutting them into seed beads. Each tiny yellow bead reflects centuries of Venetian glass tradition and expert craftsmanship.

Venetian trade beads like these were highly valued in African markets during the mid‑1900s, where color consistency and luminous glass were prized. In excellent condition, your strand is both wearable art and a collectible piece of bead‑trade history.
