This beautiful strand consists of tiny, deep-red Old Venetian drawn seed glass trade beads also known as Venetian Seed Beads, Conteria Beads, or Old Venetian Drawn Beads, a perfect match to the images shown and ready for your jewelry or collector’s display.

History, Value & Craftsmanship:
These Conteria drawn beadswere meticulously handmade in Venice in the early to mid‑1900s for use in African trade. Each bead was formed by pulling molten glass into ultra‑thin tubes, then cutting them by hand into uniform tiny cylinders roughly 3 mm in diameter. The skillful Venetian artisans maintained consistency in size, color, and clarity even in such minute scale, making them highly prized. Today, Old Venetian Drawn Seed Beads are valued by collectors and designers both for their quality and the rich trade history they represent.

Thank you for viewing this classic Antique Victorian‑style trade bead strand. The strand you receive will match exactly what is shown in the photographs.
