These rare Venetian Chevron beads are part of a long and fascinating story. Originating from Venice in the late 1800s to early 1900s, Chevron beads (also known as Rosetta beads) were made using a cane-drawing process, layering different colored glass rods which were pulled and then cut to reveal their signature star patterns. The most sought-after types, like these brick-colored 4-layer beads, were widely traded in Africa and used as a symbol of status, wealth, and ceremonial importance.
Today, these antique Chevron trade beads are highly collectible due to their beauty, craftsmanship, and historical relevance. They are perfect for collectors, jewelry designers, and those passionate about African or Venetian bead history.
