Handmade African Beaded Bracelet - Krobo Glass & Trade Beads

Discover the beauty of Ghanaian craftsmanship with this exquisite beaded bracelet, handmade by the skilled artisans of Kroboland, Ghana. Inspired by antique Venetian trade beads, these vibrant glass beads are crafted using traditional methods, preserving the rich heritage of African jewelry-making.

  • Bracelet Size: Approximately 7 1/2" (19 cm) inner circumference (unstretched), fitting wrists up to 8 1/2" (22 cm).
  • Bead Size: 9 - 14 mm in diameter.

Each bead is meticulously made from recycled glass bottles, crushed into a fine powder and fired in a clay mold within a firewood kiln. This eco-friendly process results in vibrant, one-of-a-kind beads that honor sustainable craftsmanship.

YOUR BRACELET WILL BE IDENTICAL TO THE STRAND SHOWN IN THE PHOTOGRAPH (GIVEN NORMAL VARIATION SINCE THESE BEADS ARE ALL COMPLETELY HANDMADE).

The Legacy of Krobo Beads & Trade Beads in Africa

For generations, the Krobo people of Ghana have been renowned for their unique bead-making techniques. These African beads are crafted using an ancient process that transforms recycled glass into stunning jewelry.

Trade beads hold a significant place in African history, once used as currency and symbols of status. Today, they continue to embody cultural pride and artisanal excellence, making each bracelet not only a stylish accessory but also a piece of African heritage.
