These beads are made by skilled artisans in the Krobo region of Ghana using small size recycled glass beads as raw material. The process involves:
Collection and Preparation: Small recycled glass beads are collected and cleaned.
Molding: The glass beads are placed into clay molds, which determine the shape and size of the final beads.
Firing: The molds with the glass beads are placed in a kiln and fired at high temperatures, fusing the small beads together into larger beads.
Finishing: Once cooled, the beads are removed from the molds and polished or refined to smooth out rough edges.
